The Little Dog Laughed by Douglas Carter Beane
Nominated for a Tony Award for best new play of 2007, The Little Dog Laughed centers around an actor Mitchell, his acerbic agent Diane and a hustler named Alex. Diane steps in control when she realizes her client is in the closet and tries to preserve his image in the public's eye to protect his career and her paycheck. The Little Dog Laughed has been called "clever and funny... with quick-witted dialogue" by Variety. Directed by Elisabeth Nunziato and starring Patrick Alparone, Kurt Johnson, Kathryn Morison and Elana Wright.

Patrick Alparone - [Alex]
Patrick is making his B Street Theatre debut. He most recently appeared in the West Coast Premiere of Octopus at the Magic Theatre. Other credits include Twelfth Night (Feste), Ambition Facing West (Joey) at TheatreWorks; A Streetcar Named Desire (Young Collector) at Marin Theatre Company; The Glass Menagerie (u/s Tom & Jim) at Berkeley Rep; Hamlet (Hamlet) at Impact Theatre; All's Well That Ends Well (Bertram) at Valley Shakespeare Festival; The False Servant (Frontin) at ABYDOS; Karima's City in Egypt for The Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre with Golden Thread Productions. Kurt Johnson - [Mitchell]
Kurt has been a regular at B Street Theatre since completing his 1993-94 apprentice program. He is currently a member of the B Street Theatre Acting Company and, in addition to directing Betty the Yeti, F-Stop and Vigil with Timothy Busfield, Kurt has also acted in numerous productions including Below the Belt, Three Days of Rain, The Cocktail Hour, National Anthems, While We Were Bowling, Lobby Hero, Lune Pronounced Loony, Rabbit Hole, Doubt, Escanaba in Da Moonlight and The Swan. He has performed locally with Sacramento Music Circus and Sacramento Theatre Company. Kurt works in commercials, industrial videos, radio voice-overs and film. He also teaches acting and improv classes locally.
Kathryn Morison - [Diane]
Kathryn was most recently seen as Junie in Junie B. Jones. Previous roles include Alexander, Who's Not Not Not Not Not Going to Move and A Year With Frog and Toad. She got to experience being "behind the board" in stage managing Doubt and Make Someone Happy. Local audiences may have also seen her in The Studio Theatre's production of A … My Name Will Always Be Alice and the long running Six Women With Brain Death. Kathryn has performed in numerous productions at the Sacramento Theatre Company, including the world premiere of A Cappella (Darlene) by David deBerry, Noises Off (Brooke/Vicki), Marry Me a Little (Woman), Gift of the Magi (Della) and several productions of Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey) at various regional theatres. She also spent several years at Portland Repertory Theatre performing in many musicals. Kathryn has toured the country in various musicals and had the good fortune to be a part of an exciting new television pilot for Fox TV with Will Vinton Productions called Klay TV providing voices for claymation characters. Kathryn is a proud member of the B Street Theatre Acting Company and an even prouder mother to 16 year old Alexander.
Elana Wright – [Ellen]
Elana is thrilled to be making her debut at B Street! She was last seen as Sister James in the Foothill Theatre Company's production of Doubt: A Parable. Other roles include Virginia Poe in the world premiere of Evermore (Foothill Theatre), Perdita in The Winter's Tale (Seattle Shakespeare), Dionysus in The Bacchae, Celestina del Sol in Cloud Tectonics, Procne in The Three Birds, and Reynard the Fox in The Mischief Makers (University of Washington) Ginny in Harvest (The Ethnic Cultural Theatre), Carol in Oleanna (Itty Bitty Theatre), Petra in A Little Night Music and Sweetheart in In Trousers (Garage Recital Players), Prince Dauphin in Henry V, and Harper in Angels in America: Millenium Approaches (Northeastern). Elana has her MFA from the University of Washington and currently resides in Seattle.
