Conservatory Classes

Winter Quarter 2009 Schedule:
Monday nights, January 19th through March 9th.
Scene Study*:  6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Core Acting*: 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Core Acting* teaches the basic skills and vocabulary for the actor including text analysis, scene analysis, status, personalization, and a wide variety of exercises & scene rehearsal techniques.  The class concludes with a scene presentation.

    Prerequisite: Interview
    Ages: 18 and above.

Scene Study* builds on Core Acting, and explores the strengths, habits and problems of the individual actor through intensive scene work.  Actors and their partners will be expected to meet outside of class to rehearse scenes.  Diagnostic scenes may be assigned to help the actor address

specific challenges.
    Prerequisite:
Core Acting

Audition focuses on audition techniques; selecting and preparing monologues, resumes & headshots, and the practical mechanics of monologue staging and personal presentation.
    Prerequisite:
Core Acting
    Ages: 18 and above

Spring Quarter Audition Class 2008

Shakespeare provides an introduction to working on Shakespeare's text, including scansion, verse & prose, and image analysis, and phrasing.
    Prerequisite:
Core Acting
    Ages: 18 and above
