B Street Theatre to Present LOVE SONG As B-3 Season Finale
B Street Theatre is pleased to announce Love Song by John Kolvenbach as its next B-3 Series offering.
A 2007 Oliver Award nominee for Best New Comedy, Love Song follows a week in the life of oddball Beane-an exile from life. Following a burglary at Beane's apartment, Beane’s sister Joan is baffled to find her brother blissfully happy and tries to unravel the story behind his mysterious new love, Molly. Funny, enchanting and wonderfully touching, John Kolvenbach's offbeat comedy is a rhapsody to the power of love in all its forms.
The Playwright: John Kolvenbach is the author of Love Song, on an average day, Gizmo Love (published by Oberon), The Gravity of Means and the recently completed Fabuloso. on an average day premiered at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End, Gizmo Love premiered at WHAT on Cape Cod. The Gravity of Means premiered at MCC in New York. Kolvenbach has recently been commissioned by Costa Mesa, California’s South Coast Repertory Theatre for a new play.
The Cast: Love Song features Jason Kuykendall as Beane, Elisabeth Nunziato as Beane’s sister Joan, Kurt Johnson as Joan’s husband Harry, and Dana Brooke as Molly. Directing intern Jennifer Freyer co-directs with B Street producing artistic director Buck Busfield.
