The B Street Theatre weaves a spine-tingling tale of wonder and mystery in the backwoods of Middle America with Laura Schellhardt’s The K of D. Long-time B Street Company members Tara Sissom and Jason Kuykendall create memorable characters as they explore the dark realm of this urban legend. Charlotte McGraw’s twin brother Jamie gives his sister a strange, dangerous gift no one can explain. When Jonny Whistler moves in next door and ignites a vicious family feud with the McGraw’s, Charlottle’s rag-tag posse of friends retaliates in kind. But how the feud ends, and who has the last say, remains a provocative mystery.

Playwright Laura Schellhardt studied playwrighting under such formidable talents as John Logan, author of B Street’s highly acclaimed production of Red, and Paula Vogel. She currently teaches playwrighting at Northwestern University and her work has been staged in New York, Chicago, and across the country. Her earthy, theatrical, provocative story-telling showcases the B Street Theatre’s incomparable talents in a show that will keep audiences riveted to the very end.

The K of D: an urban legend is the third show in B Street’s 2012-2013 Mainstage Season.
